Champagne Jello Shots
I can’t help being bougie; it’s a pillar of my personality for better or worse. These are the elevated jello shots that marry straight-up-partying with some class. AND they’re PERFECT for NYE or any moment that calls for a little more sparkle and celebrating. They turn heads. They’re soft but strong. They will bring you so much joy but knock you on your ass if you’re not paying attention. Cheers, favorites!
MVP Ingredients: My Lavender Vanilla Simple Syrup & edible glitter or flowers
Kitchen Weapon of Choice: Cookie cutters
Ingredients
8 oz champagne or sparkling wine
4 oz gin or vodka of choice
2 oz fresh lemon juice
2 oz simple syrup (we prefer lavender vanilla)
2 tbsp of unflavored gelatin (2 packets typically)
Edible glitter, flowers or gold flecks (optional)
Nonstick spray of choice
Directions
Combine fresh lemon juice and simple syrup in a pot.
This is the step where you'll want to adjust the simple syrup to achieve your preferred level of sweetness. Mix well.
Add the gelatin to the simple syrup mixture. Allow the gelatin to soak for 2 minutes. Gently warm over low heat. Stir continuously until the gelatin is completely dissolved (a few minutes tops). Avoid boiling; it will dilute the flavor.
Remove from heat. Add vodka (or gin) and the champagne.
Lightly grease a shallow baking dish (or silicone mold or plastic shot glasses).
Pour the jello mixture in the dish.
Optional: add the edible glitter and gently mix throughout.
Chill in the refrigerator until fully set and firm. This typically takes a minimum of 2 hours minimum.
Once firm, use a cookie cutter to shape or cut into squares.
If adding edible gold or flowers, place on top with tweezers before serving.
